Dublin North TD and Minister for Food and Horticulture, Trevor Sargent TD, today urged citizens of Fingal to ensure that they are registered to vote.
Minister Sargent said, “My colleague John Gormley TD, Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, has announced that his Department will be undertaking a public information campaign to promote awareness of the Draft Register of Electors, running until 25 November 2008. Until that date, the Draft Register will be on display in County Council offices, Garda stations, libraries, post offices and online on www.checktheregister.ie
“You cannot vote unless you are correctly registered. An accurate Register of Electors is essential for democracy. Check the register now, and if you have any concerns about getting on the register, feel free to contact my office on (01) 890 0360 or trevor.sargent@oir.ie.”
