Sargent welcomes removal of dredger from Skerries Harbour
Following representations from Minister for Food & Horticulture and local T.D. Trevor Sargent, the dredger which has been something of an eyesore in Skerries Harbour was removed at the beginning of May.
The dredger platform was moored without permission in Skerries harbour and was one of two owned by Marine Blast Ltd. which was subcontracted by SIAC on the laying of the outfall from Barnageera Treatment Plant. One of the dredgers was removed from the harbour some months ago to undertake works elsewhere but the second was left behind. Despite many requests and promises the owner failed to remove the dredger. Minister Sargent and the Law Department of Fingal County Council finally succeeded in having the matter resolved.
