MINISTER SARGENT CALLS FOR A REVIEW OF THE BUS SERVICE TO HOLYWELL, SWORDS
Trevor Sargent, Minister for Food and Horticulture and local T.D., has written to Dublin Bus calling on them to review its service to residents of the Holywell Estate in Swords.
He is concerned about the local service providing buses for those commuting to and from the city centre. This is limited to early morning peak times which finish at around 8.15 and a couple of buses returning to Holywell between 6.00 and 6.30 pm.
The Minister said, ‘This is a most unsatisfactory service. I have asked Dublin Bus to expand this valuable link to the city centre and also to consider a ‘nipper’ type service to connect with the centre of Swords. I hope that an improved service could be provided for this sizable population, lessening the need to use cars and freeing up the congested roads.‘
