Trevor Sargent Minister for Food and Horticulture, and local TD, has confirmed that there will be no change to the operation of bus routes serving the Holywell Estate and Malahide Road area.
The news follows representations made by the Minister on behalf of concerned residents who had heard that some local bus routes were about to be terminated.
The 142 is popular bus route that travels between Portmarnock and Rathmines, serving Malahide village and Waterside. The 43 also operates on the Malahide Road, travelling between Lower Abbey Street and Swords Business Park.
Paddy Doherty, of Bus Átha Cliath, clarified the situation with the Minister this week. He said that ‘misinformation’ had been put out regarding local routes and confirmed that there will be no change to any bus service in the area.
The Minister said, “I’m delighted that the rumours are unfounded and that these essential bus routes for local commuters are unaffected.”
