MINISTER SARGENT WELCOMES DECISION TO SELL TO DUBLIN AEROSPACE LTD.
SR Technics to sell bulk of aircraft maintenance operation to Dublin Aerospace
Minister for Food & Horticulture Trevor Sargent, and TD for Dublin North, has welcomed an announcement by SR Technics last night (3 June) regarding their operation at Dublin Airport. They have agreed to sell the bulk of the aircraft maintenance section to Dublin Aerospace Ltd., a consortium lead by Conor McCarthy.
The Minister said, ‘This is most welcome as it reverses the previous decision of SR Technics to sell the Landing gear and Auxiliary Power Units (APU) to Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies. The agreement should ensure that up to 250 jobs will be recovered.’
The Minister continued, ‘I will continue to do my best on behalf of the remaining workers at SRT and liase with the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade & Employment Mary Coughlan. The future of the line maintenance and garage operations have still be decided sometime after June 10th, when bids for these operations are received.’
