- Minister Sargent welcomes funding grant for local home care group

Fingal Home Care to receive €4,394.

Minister Sargent has welcomed news that Fingal Home Care Ltd is to receive €4,394 in grant aid under the Scheme of Community Support for Older People. The Fingal group was one of the recipients announced by John Curran T.D., Minister of State (with special responsibility for Community Affairs and the National Drugs Strategy) at the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs on Monday.

Commenting on the award, Minister Sargent said “Although this is a modest grant, I hope it will assist Fingal Home Care in their program of home immprovements for the elderly of Fingal. This is an invaluable service and any support is to be welcomed. The elderly in our community have made a massive contribution over many years and it is only fitting that we make sure they are properly cared for.”

Minister Curran announced funding totalling over €105,000 for 36 groups throughout the country.  Over €1.9m has been approved this year to date under the Scheme with 390 groups receiving funds. Funding is provided towards the cost of installing monitored personal alarm systems, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, external security lighting and other ancillary items of physical security equipment.
