Just reading the account of your day 14-2-11. The comment that “Many matters relating to Fingal County Council are raised, such as footpath shortcomings to Swords village from Swords Manor, the long awaited Community Centre plans for this Brackenstown area and a badly planned wall in the Ormaond estate which encourages trespass of a private back garden. All these individual concerns will be personally followed up”
Im sorry but this should not be your job to force the Fingal County Council to do the job that they are employed to do by the government. Should we get rid of the county council and just employ one public representatives to call to every estate and have them responsible for works in their areas and fix them where they see necessary ?
I have always said that if we have county councils in every county with county managers why in gods name do we have to have local T.D’s doing the job for them. which seems to be the only way we can get things done, the better you know the local T.D the more you will get done.
County managers should report to the government of the day on a monthly basis with the needs of there own county and not be influenced by any big farmer, pub/shop owner, priest or T.D !
This to me would be fair.
I hope we can change the way this Country is run because we do need a change no matter who is the next government.

Totally agree.
Excellent performance by minister Ryan on primetime last night regarding Metro North. Great to see someone thinking strategically at this time.
This is a critical project for the long term future of Dublin. Opponent arguments about its benefits and its financing do not stand up to scrutiny. Proceed with this as a vote of confidence in the future of Dublin and Fingal!
